The HIS Group was founded in 1980 as a business selling discounted airline tickets. We popularized overseas travel, which was overpriced in Japan at the time, offering them at mainstream prices. This allowed us to provide exciting experiences to a wider demographic of people, such as encounters with the unknown and connections with new people. We currently operate a range of businesses that revolve around travel, these being hotel business, regional revitalization business, theme park business, and insurance business, among others.
Going forward, we intend to deepen our travel segment and travel-related operations while diversifying our business by exploring non-travel ventures as we set our management on a stable path, ultimately realizing the growth of the HIS Group as a whole. Specifically, in the travel business, we are continuing to shore up our efforts in the overseas travel segment, while also entering the domestic travel and inbound travel segments in earnest, two areas in which we have traditionally been latecomers in relation to other firms. In the non-travel segment, we are taking on new challenges in growth areas such as business partnerships with companies in different industries and BPO outsourcing.
Through these diverse business ventures, we want to widely share the HIS Group Purpose with our 12,000 employees establishing it as a cornerstone in our corporate culture and aim to improve our corporate value over the long term so that we can truly “Unleash your excitement” for our broad base of stakeholders, society, and the regions in which we operate.
